
Martha Foka
Masks, Set and Costume Designer
Martha Foka is a graduate with honors from the School of Fine Arts, Theatre Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2009, she studied leather mask-making under Donato Sartori in Padua, Italy.
Since 2008, she has collaborated closely with director Simos Kakalas and the theatre company Choros, contributing masks, costumes, and set designs to major productions such as Melted Butter (National Theatre 2008), Erofili (Epidaurus Festival 2010), Recycle (National Theatre 2010), Orestes (Epidaurus Festival 2015), and others.
She has also worked as a mask-maker with artists and groups such as Michael Marmarinos, Rimini Protokoll, Olga Lazariou, Fotis Nikolaou, and Andonis Foniadakis. As a scenographer and costume designer, she has collaborated with Tasos Ratzos, Reni Moschoviti, and others.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, including Rooms 2010, the Prague Quadrennial '07, and the Theatre Mask Exhibition at Technopolis. She has also taught theatrical mask-making in various educational settings, including the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation program and theatre schools.
