
Yorgos Dousos
Music Composer
Giorgos Dousos began his musical studies in classical flute at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, earning his diploma with highest distinction in 2002. From a young age, he was also engaged with traditional music, initially studying traditional wind instruments with S. Vasdekis in Serres and later with A. Arkadopoulos at the Athens Conservatoire. He is a graduate of the Department of Music Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2012).
He pursued postgraduate studies in flute at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Abbie de Quant for one year, and subsequently in London, where he studied jazz flute with Rowland Sutherland. He has attended masterclasses with renowned flautists including P.L. Graf, W. Boustany, T. Wye, I. Makovei, I. Matuz, L. Kovats, S. Milan, and L. Ruoho.
He is a founding member of the musical groups Rom Royale, Federacion Tres, and Darnakes. He has composed music for short films and theatre productions in Thessaloniki and Athens. As a composer, he has collaborated with the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the National Theatre of Greece, and numerous private theatre companies and directors across the country.
As a performing musician, he has collaborated on stage with prominent Greek artists including Haris Alexiou, Melina Kana, Melina Aslanidou, and Michalis Hatzigiannis.
