Katerina Synapidou

Head of Communications and Tour Management

Actress with professional experience since 2009, having participated in over 25 independent productions in Thessaloniki and Athens, as well as being an active member of theatre groups (C. for Circus, Ars Moriendi). Passionate about creating new dramaturgy, she has taken part in performances of contemporary texts as well as classical works reinterpreted through a modern lens.

She is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts – Department of Theatre at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Acting. Her instructors included M. Marmarinos, D. Theodoridou, Ch. Chatzivasileiou, D. Konstantinidis, F. Komninou, G. Kalaitzis, among others. Her thesis project focused on Acting and Dramaturgy, culminating in the performance Electra, no more tears, a reinterpretation of Sophocles' Electra.

She also holds a degree in Cultural Management from the Department of Communication, Media and Culture at Panteion University.

She has appeared in several international theatre festivals, including:

  • X-Fest at Teatrul Excelsior in Bucharest, Romania (Hum@nitarium by Stella Papadimitriou, 2023)

  • Festival Theatre at the Crossroads at the National Theatre of Niš, Serbia (Sarajevo 1914 – This Grave is Too Small for Me by Biljana Srbljanović, 2018)

  • MonoFest '18 in Izmir, Turkey (solo performance I Am Not This Wall / Truly, 2018)

While living in Melbourne, Australia, she was a member of the intercultural Tony Yap Company (Square of Light at the Light in Winter Festival – a community installation, 2014), and participated in the Neighbours Art Project at the Big West Festival (2014).

She has completed twelve semesters of Acting training, attended an Acting on Camera seminar, and trained in various techniques such as Viewpoints, physical training, responsive performance practice, as well as diverse dance forms (improvisation, traditional, ballet, contemporary).

Since 2015, she has been collaborating with the Hippo Theatre Group's production office, serving as Head of Communications and Tour Management.
