Apostolis Koutsiannikoulis was born in Thessaloniki, raised in Preveza, and has been living and working in Athens for the past 15 years. A graduate of the Drama School of the Athens Conservatory (2009), he co-founded the theatre group 4FRONTAL the same year, participating as an actor-musician and in production roles.

Together with Georgia Kakoudaki, he co-created the group's Teen Department, active since 2011 at the Neos Kosmos Theatre. His acting credits include productions such as VividFilm, RISPΕKT, Birds, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Faust, Woyzeck, Catone in Utica, and Antigone, directed by Kakoudaki and others. He has also contributed to radio theatre productions for ERT’s Third Programme.

Since 2015, he has worked in film and video as a director, DOP, and cinematographer, both independently and with the creative team blæc cinematography.
