Strays

Strays' European Tour

Strays
This play, written by Fotis Dousos, Alexandros Raptis, and Kalliopi Fykari, centers around raising awareness among young children about stray animals. Using intense physicality, high energy, distinctive movement, and constant interaction with the audience, the performance offers young viewers a spectacle full of surprises, twists, humor, and emotion.
A few words about the play…
Strays is an imaginative contemporary fairy tale for children that tells the story of a stray dog and a stray cat struggling to survive in a hostile and unwelcoming environment. At the same time, we follow the efforts of the city authorities to keep the city spotless and perfect—efforts that clash with the presence of stray animals. This confrontation leads everyone to realize that a solution requires going beyond conventional thinking.
Interwoven throughout the performance are segments of theatrical play and educational drama activities, offering young viewers a rich, experiential journey they will never forget.
The educational goals of the performance aim to foster compassion for animals and promote ecological awareness and behavior, through love and respect for all living beings.
Plot Summary
The Mayor wants to prepare his city to win the award for the Cleanest City from the Grand Awards Committee. Alongside his secretary, he devises the perfect plan for cleaning and sanitizing the city. The only obstacle in his path is the strays that, unintentionally, make the city dirty.
What happens when the stray animals begin to demand their rights? And how will they survive when the authorities decide to get rid of them?
