The Island of Feelings

Hippo Theatre Group presents the interactive drama - in - education program "The Island of Feelings" based on a story from Jorge Bucay.
The program's goal is developing EQ (emotional intelligence). Through narration, imprivation, theatrical games and Drama in Education the kids become a part of the story of Bucay, affect its development and decide for its end. They infiltrate in the core of the story, improving their judgement and critical thinking.
What are the benefits of the program:
Developing the EQ we manage to create a peaceful school environment in which problems are being solved more civilized. If we control our feelings, we accept ourselves and then we can develop empathy and empathy leads to a non violent world of solidarity.
Questions being raised during the program:
- What is a feeling (meaning)
- When and how a feeling is born?
- What happens to our body when we feel?
- Are there any ways of controling our feelings?
- How the brain works when we think, dream, love and hate?
New studies have shown that EQ is much more important than IQ even in fields that are traditionally linked to intelligence, as is, for example, profession. The importance of developing a high EQ in the first school years is very important for created happy and creative adult citizens.
