Mellonia: An original project, a comic book story that comes to life.

 

Hippo Theatre Group (Fotis Dousos & Alex Raptis) present an original project that combines different kinds of contemporary art, giving the audience a new theatrical experience.

 

On a cinematic screen we can watch the video - story of a sci-fi comic book. In the same time a performing band is also narrating us the story through dialogues, sounds and songs. The comic sketches come to life with the support of cinematic, musical and theatrical elements.

 

Mellonia. Stellar year XKA 2059. After the war beween men and machines. Supression. Revolution. 5th dimension. Self – sacrifice.

 

A liminal kind of theatre, that using as story background a future dystopia, breaks the rules of performing arts suggesting a new narrating code.

 

It could be defined as live cinema, but it's not. Is it a comic, cinema, theater, live music, foley? Or all those together?
