Nadia and the Magic Wand
The Alter Zoo
This is a double performance. Nadia and the Magic wand perfomed all over Greece, and U.K during 2010-2012. The Alter Zoo was the English version of the same show. It was translated by the same author, directed by HIPPO Theatre Group and performed during April of 2012 in London, U.K. by a group of American, British and Greek actors.

NADIA AND THE MAGIC WAND
The Alter Zoo

“Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
Roald Dahl
This is the English version of our show "Nadia and the Magic Wand".
Nadia the Witch has been so clumsy that Circle of Witches have cast her out as punishment. Count Leopold is an award-winning host who delights in entertaining his guests. Leopold faces tough competition from Helarion though, as they both strive to throw the best party for this year's Carnival. Taking his servant's advice, Leopold invites Nadia to his party in the hope that her powers will make it a party to really remember, the results however are far beyond what he or anyone else could ever have imagined!
The performance is a modern storytelling based on physical theatre. Live music gives a boost in the emotional experience of the show. Three actors perform dozens of roles without any changes in their costumes. They only use their physical and vocal skills. The performance rapidly develops towards a frenzy comedy with emotional fluctuations while in the same time the nature of the storytelling leads the young audience to a more Brechtian perception of the show.
After the performance a Drama workshop is taking place, giving the opportunity to children to share their experience. The workshop includes short theatrical games and Drama techniques to explore concepts like “responsibility”, “choice”, the sense of “right” and “wrong”, “diversity” and social forms of discrimination.
